Business Strategy In line with ASPC Vision & Mission and Defined Company Strategy trough Balances Score Card we determined our Maintenance Strategy Guideline. The guideline defines the sections approach to achieve the “Best Practice” with regards to the establishment of an effective Maintenance Management Process. Application of this strategy guideline supports the goal of safe cost effective maintenance in full support of AryaSasol business and asset policies and operating strategies. Maintenance Policy: To develop and use available resources to preserve the plant’s physical assets while safely providing a Reliable maintenance services to ensure production equipment is available to meet production requirements as cost effective as possible.
In accordance Maintenance policy, maintenance activities will ensure that the following criteria are met:
The plant and equipment poses the least possible threat to human safety and the environment
A quality maintenance service is provided at an acceptable cost per ton of final product
Maintenance resources are used more effectively by better co-ordination of planning, scheduling and downtime
Inventory investment is spares and material are reduced while maintaining an acceptable service level
Equipment failures are analysed to determine its cause and the effect and develop plant to prevent failures
Plant availability and reliability are optimised
Making effective use of planned and unplanned shutdowns

For Deployment of stage 1 (Planned Maintenance) we defined ASTAR project.
The ASTAR Project is an initiative that has been designed, approved, implemented and will be sustained by Arya Sasol employees in order to reach World Class Operations in Physical Asset Management context.
The primary purpose of ASTAR Project, Stage 1, is to “get control of our work”.

PM Optimization is a process which uses the principles of RCM to rationalize (analyze, improve) existing maintenance programs, failure history and eliminate defects
